Request from the Mayor of Nagano City to mitigate the spread of COVID-19
Cases of COVID-19 have been increasing in Nagano City. The city’s Infection Warning Level has been raised to Level 5. Nagano Prefecture has also issued a “Medical Institution Warning”, and the Infection Warning Level for the prefecture is at Level 4.
There are also an increasing number of people being infected with the new Omicron variant. In order to curb the further spread of the Coronavirus, I have an important request for the citizens of Nagano City.
- Avoid meeting up with other people. When you do meet up with other people, do not speak in close proximity, and keep meetings as brief as possible. Please do not visit any locations where many people may gather, or where ventilation is poor.
2. Please wear a mask, wash your hands often and use hand sanitizer, ventilate your spaces often, do not gather with large groups of people, and do not talk with others in close proximity.
3. Avoid dining out if at all possible. Please do not eat or drink at any stores or restaurants that are not enforcing infection prevention measures.
4. Take your temperature every day and check your physical condition. If you have a fever, or do not feel well, quickly call a hospital and refrain from going outside.
5. For work, please either work from home or alternate in-person shifts at your workplace. Please practice infection prevention at work and in stores as well.
6. Please postpone or cancel any upcoming events.
7. If you receive communication about getting the vaccine, please get vaccinated as soon as you can.
8. Do not harm or discriminate against people who have been infected with COVID-19.
